Nostr stands for “Notes and Other Stuff on Relays”. It is a novel decentralized technology that prefers simplicity in operation and replication of messages by one or more relays. These relays may be spread all over the planet, inside software apps, or embedded in hardware.

To get started with Nostr, the most basic concept to understand is that the username and password you are so used to, is now a permissionless public and private key combination, which allows for anonymity and encourages you to keep your private key secure, much like you would do for your Bitcoin wallet.
